Announcing the Nonimaging Optics Design Competition 2026

We are excited to announce the launch of our Nonimaging Optics Design Competition 2026 - The Square Peg Challenge! Can you fit a square peg through a round hole?

Your task is to design a reflective optical system that takes all light emitted from a cube-shaped source and guides it into a circular opening. The étendue is perfectly matched, so in theory it’s possible. The only question is: How?
