About the Conference

The Nonimaging Optics conference at SPIE Optics + Photonics is the primary annual meeting point for researchers in nonimaging optics, illumination design, and solar concentration optics. We feature a broad spectrum of presentations ranging from foundational developments to practical applications of nonimaging optics.

Join us for the milestone 2025 conference as we celebrate two decades of advancing nonimaging optics at SPIE Optics + Photonics, and six decades since the inception of the compound parabolic concentrator!

Design Competition

In honor of our twentieth anniversary, this year's conference will feature a special design competition paying tribute to the refleXion-refleXion (XX) optical concentrator. Open to all conference attendees and anyone else who wants to give it a try!

Best Presentation Award

The conference committee will present a Best Student and Postdoc Presentation Award, sponsored by Synopsys, to recognize great oral presentations by students and postdoctoral researchers.

All PhD students and postdocs giving oral presentations at the conference are eligible for the award.
