Felix Göhring

Felix Göhring

German Aerospace Center (DLR), Institute of Solar Research

Felix Göhring is a mechanical engineer and research group leader at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Institute of Solar Research. He leads the operation and development of large-scale solar thermal research facilities, including the Solar Power Tower Jülich and the Multi-Focal Tower. His work focuses on high-temperature solar technologies, power plant engineering, and the integration of innovative thermal processes.

Since joining DLR in 2009, he has held roles as scientist, project engineer, and group leader, managing multidisciplinary teams of researchers and engineers. He has led major infrastructure and R&D projects, including the development of the Multi-Focal Tower Jülich and federally funded projects addressing concentrating solar technologies and electric heating systems for high-temperature applications.

Felix holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in energy technologies from RWTH Aachen University.
