We are excited to introduce another of our invited speakers, Professor John Koshel!

John Koshel is the Associate Dean of Academic Programs at the College of Optical Sciences, The University of Arizona. He is known for his research and development of illumination systems including reflectors, displays, lightpipes, solar concentrators, and lighting systems. Previously, he was also the Principal Illumination Engineer and VP of Consulting at Photon Engineering.

We are thrilled to introduce one of our invited speakers for the 2025 conference: Martijn Anthonissen from Eindhoven University of Technology.

Martijn Anthonissen works at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Computational Illumination Optics group. This is one of the few mathematics groups worldwide working on optical design problems from illumination optics. The team has a healthy portfolio of PhD positions and close collaborations with industrial partners. The research focuses on nonimaging freeform optics, imaging optics and improved direct methods.

We are excited to announce the launch of our Nonimaging Optics Design Competition 2025 - The XX Challenge! This competition celebrates the XX (20th) anniversary of the Nonimaging Optics conference series at SPIE Optics + Photonics!

We are pleased to announce that the call for papers is now open for the 20th anniversary conference on “Nonimaging Optics: Efficient Design for Illumination and Concentration XX” at SPIE Optics + Photonics 2025.

Submit your abstracts through the official submission portal. The deadline for abstract submissions is February 5, 2025.

The complete proceedings from our 2024 conference are now available online. This peer-reviewed collection includes both papers and presentation recordings from the conference.

You can access the materials through two complementary collections:

1. Main Proceedings Collection - Contains proceedings papers and their corresponding presentation recordings
2. Presentation Recordings Collection - Contains recordings from presentations where no proceedings paper was submitted
